卷板機(jī)按照工作狀況分為：冷卷和熱卷兩種。工作能力是指板材在冷態(tài)下，按規(guī)定的屈服極限卷制最大板材厚度與寬度時(shí)最小卷筒直徑的能力。當(dāng)卷制板厚較大或彎曲半徑較小并超過設(shè)備工作能力時(shí)，在設(shè)備允許的前提下可采用熱卷的方法。個(gè)別不允許冷卷的板材，熱卷剛性太差，則采用溫卷的方法。
